About Talent
David S. Kadhila is a Namibian engineer and postgraduate scholar specializing in energy systems and sustainable development. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Power from NUST and is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering (Energy Systems), with a research exchange at the University of Bayreuth in Germany. His work focuses on the techno-economic assessment of integrated energy systems, particularly for green ammonia production in Namibia.
David has gained hands-on experience through roles at the Cheetah Conservation Fund under the SteamBioAfrica project, NamWater, and GIZ’s Green People’s Energy initiative. His expertise includes renewable energy systems, energy efficiency, environmental impact assessment, and rural electrification. Passionate about climate-resilient infrastructure and sustainable energy transitions, he aspires to contribute to impactful solutions in Namibia and beyond.

Work & Experience
Accountable for the daily operation and maintenance of all existing utilities of CCF including electric grid, water grid, internet, and network. Hands-on management of the biomass torrefaction plant including supervision of operators. Repair and maintenance of the synchronized diesel generators. Monitor the electrical systems (solar grid tie inverters, battery inverters and biomass gasifier generators). Biomass harvesting environmental impact assessment and management plan. Planning and implementation of the expansion of all utilities and supervising any site construction. Record keeping and reporting of preventive and emergency maintenance actions taken. Liaise with external contractors and third parties.
Providing critical review and contributing to the development of research concept. Conducted literature review and compiled reports on performance, reliability and viability of stand-alone Solar PV systems and policies and regulatory frameworks that promulgate the adoption of renewable energy in Namibia. Data collection from Namwater’s dream reports and SCADA. Data cleaning, manipulation, statistical analysis and visualization using Microsoft Excel. Routine site visit to rural pilot groundwater desalination plants powered by hybrid renewable energy (wind and solar) at Grunua and Bethanie. Community engagements and affordability and acceptability surveys. Offered comprehensive administrative assistance as required.
Support Technical Advisors with the implementation of their components and activities i.e. Project administration and finance, training education; Productive use of energy; Social infrastructure; Investments and legal frameworks. Overseeing rural school electrification projects and conducting energy consumption surveys. Development of TORs for tendering, tender documentation and contracting.
